Srilanka thrashes India take 1-0 lead in 3 test match series

In the first test match between India and Srilanka which had taken place at the SCC,Colombo the Srilankam beat the Indians by an innings and 239 runs. The Indian players succumbed to the two twin spinning wizards of the Srilankan team namely Ajantha Mendis and Muttiah Muralitharan who took wickets at regular intervals in both the innings.After declaring the 1st innings with massive total of 600 on the board the lankans were good in the bowling too restricting the Indians to a total of 223 in the 1st innings.Laxman was the top scorer with 56 runs.Murali took 5 wickets,Mendis took 4 wickets and kulasekara took 1 wicket.Srilankans then gave the Indians a follow on with 377 runs behind. In the second innings the dismal batting show by the Indians continued as the Srilankans bowlers were rocking at the core bowling and spinning the ball stupendously which helped them took the wickets at regular intervals.In the second innings also the two spin wizards continued to trouble the Indian batsman.Finally India were all out for 138 runs.Gambhir was the top scorer with 43 runs in the second innings.All other Indian batsman played some funny cricket.Murali took 6 wcikets and Mendis took 4 wickets in the second innings.Srilanka beat India by an innings and 239 runs.Murali won the man of the match award for his inspiring bowling performance!!!Hope Indians put some fight in the second test match on Juy 31st at the Galle International Stadium.The Lankans really deserved this victory.
