India wins RBS Cup Test Series 08

The second test match of the RBS Cup between India and England played at Mohali was drawn. After India won the toss, they choose to bat first. In the first innings India were bundled out for 453 runs. Gambhir scored 179 runs and Dravid scored 136 runs were the top scorers in the Indian innings. For England, Flintoff and Swann took 3 wickets each. Then in the chase, England was bowled out for 302 runs in their first innings. Pietersen scored 144 runs, Flintoff and Cook scored half centuries were the top scorers for England. For India, Harbhajan took 4 wickets and Zaheer took 3 wickets. By this, India gained a lead of 151 runs in their first innings. India declared their second innings for 251/7 ad set England a daunting target of 403runs to win. Gambhir and Yuvaraj scored half centuries were the top scorers for India in their second innings. England finally managed to score only 64 runs for the loss of one wicket at the end of day five. Finally the match was ended in a draw. By this, India leads the two match series 1-0 and clinches the RBS Cup in style. Gambhir was given the man of the match and Zaheer was given the player of the series award. India ended this year on a winning note and moves to the No.2 spot in ICC world team rankings in test cricket with 118 points. It was really a deserving victory for the Indian team.
