Safety glass and its features

The automobile industry has been using laminated safety glass for windshields for the past several years. Laminated glass holds together when shattered. It is made by sandwiching a thin layer of clear plastic film poly vinyl butyral between two layers of glass. When there is a large impact, the plastic film gets stretched but it holds the glass together. It is also very difficult to penetrate laminated glass. So when a vehicle meets with an accident the occupants are not thrown out. Laminated and tempered glass is commonly used in modern buildings as a facade or for windows and doors. Some armored vehicles are fitted with one-way bullet-resistant glass. Persons sitting in this vehicle can fire from inside but this glass resists bullets fired from outside. So people can use these types of glasses as safety glass in order to protect themselves and other things in real life.
