Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar was born on 24th April 1973 at Mumbai, in India. Sachin was given a pair of pads by his cricket hero Sunil Gavaskar when he was a school boy and he made a test debut for the India against Pakistan in 1989 when he was just 16 years old.He was the captain of the Indian cricket team during 1996-1997. He holds the record for the most number of runs in ODI matches.He also holds the reocrd of most number of centuries in ODI's as well as in test match cricket.He also holds the record of most number of runs in world cup cricket.His first ODI century came on September 9, 1994 against Australia in Sri Lanka at Colombo. It had taken Tendulkar 79 ODIs to score a century.Wisden named Tendulkar one of the Cricketers of the Year in 1997.Sachin Tendulkar married Anjali Mehta in 1995 and now he has two children.These facts proved that Sachin is the god of Indian cricket.
