Beijing Olympics ' 08 kicks off in grand style

The Middle Kingdom, as China is also known, which is now organising the 29thOlympic games mania with the auspiciously lucky number 8, at 8:08:08 p.m. of the eighth day of the eighth month of the eighth year of the millennium, at the Bird's Nest National Stadium. The opening ceremony of this year Olympic games at the Bird's National Stadium today kicks of in a grand style with fireworks exploding over the stadium in a glittering fashion. In front of a crowd of 91,000, the Chinese president, Hu Jintao, launched the event to a huge cheer. The event then moved on to the parading of the national teams, and they were leading from the front according to the number of strokes written in Chinese characters. The Olympics which come with an estimate euro 29 billlion have sparked a fervour of patriotic pride among many Chinese people. From India, the shooter-Rathore came with the national flag leading the country with great spirit. All the sports persons from all over the world will participate in this 16 days sporting extravaganza amd make their country proud by winning gold medals at various events in this Olympics. This is one of the grandest opening ceremonies in Olympics history i have ever seen. I hope Indian sports persons will perform better at the Olympic games by winning some medals and make our country proud.
