Beijing Olympics ends on a happy note
The 16 day sporting extravaganza which started on August 8th at the Birds Nest National Stadium in Beijing, with more than 20o countries participated in this mega sporting event ended on a colorful note on Sunday that is 24th of August,with fireworks glittering around the skies and with all credits and glitz Beijing finally bid farewell to the world. China handed the Olympic flag to the mayor of London,which will host the next Olympic games in 2012. This event marked some wonderful records ever in Olympic history with Michael Phelps winning eight gold medals in swimming, Usain Bolt-the fastest runner on earth broke the records in men's 100m,200m and 400m running events and Yelena Isinbayeva broke her own world record in the pole vault event. The entire credit goes to the host nation which dominated the entire event in terms of medals with China on the top place,U.S.A claiming the second position and Russia climbing the third place. Indeed it was a very grand performance that was provided by China, the greatest ever ceremonies in Olympics history.
