Sachin's ton sets up India's Victory

In the first test of the RBS Cup between India and England played at M.A.Chidambaram Stadium-Chennai, India won the match by 6 wickets. After winning the toss England chooses to bat first. England scored 316 runs in their first innings. Strauss was the top scorer with 123 runs.In reply India scored 241 runs in their first innings. Dhoni was the top scorer with 53 runs. By this,England gained a lead of 75 runs in their first innings. In second innings, England scored 311 runs for the loss of 9 wickets and they declared their second innings. Colling wood and Strauss were the top scorer with 108 runs each. Finally England set a target of 387 runs to win for India. On the 4Th day's play of the final session after tea, India started their second innings. The Indian openers started firing runs and especially Sehwag was the man of the moment with some dazzling strokes he rattled the England bowling attack. He scored 83 runs of just 68 deliveries smashing 11 fours and 4 sixes. He finally got lbw to Swann. Then Dravid also departed early scoring just 4 runs. Gambhir and Sachin steadied the Indian innings and the wickets were falling at regular intervals.Gambhir scored 66 runs.Laxman scored 26 runs. Then came Yuvaraj and Sachin and both of them played sensible innings and their unbroken 163 run partnership guided the Indian team to an easy victory. Sachin scored his 41st test hundred and also he scored the winning runs for the Indian team. Yuvaraj scored 85* runs and Sachin scored 103* runs.finally India won the match by 6 wickets and they lead two match series by 1-0. Sehwag was given the man of the match award for his fiery batting performance that sets up the tone for the Indian team victory.
