Patel grabs five as England claim series


In the 3rd ODI of the NatWest Series between England and South Africa played at kenning ton Oval, England trashed South Africa by 126 runs and also clinched the series. South Africa after winning the toss chooses to field first. England started aggressively with Prior and Bell shared a century wicket partnership between them in less than 15 over’s. Flintoff and Bell rescued the England innings after the loss of key wicket of Pietersen they marched steadily and Patel in the end played some cameo that propelled England to set a target of 297 runs from 50 overs.Flintoff-78* and Bell-73 were the top scorers for England. Then in the chase, South African wickets came like a cropper with only Amla contributing to the team with 46 runs. The other batsman fell cheaply to the England bowlers. Patel took 5 wickets and Flintoff took 2 wickets for England. England won the match by 126 runs and leads the series 3-0. Patel was adjudged the man of the match for his inspiring all round performance in this match.
